First Post for Abstract Art

Here is my new website showing my abstract art with a design base. I have always been interested in color, line, and design. Traditional art is too difficult for me. My art comes from within.

My first style used only straight lines and curved lines. Not much color was used. I enjoyed drawing the design. I don’t know where I got the idea for this design art. This was about 60 years ago. I still have some of this art.

I took the art classes in junior high school and in junior college. My favorite art course was in junior college where I learned about the fundamentals of design. From then on my abstract art was based on drawing the design lines before adding the color. After I added the color I, then, began to see “a picture”. To me it was like magic.

Using your imagination is a must when viewing my abstract art. My art needs to be viewed slowly. It is not ” instant art”. For example, you won’t see the birds, but will feel the form of birds.

My abstract art can usually be rotated to show a different view on each of the four sides. When that happens then I know that the design base was truly successful.

Abstract art is about the viewer. Each viewer has different experiences that they will bring when viewing my art. The viewer may see something different than what the artist saw.

The image is titled “A Portrait”. Do you see it? What do you see?
